Todd N. Wurschmidt is an advocate of working at nonprofit organizations. The common and selfless goal and the need for structure and outreach attract Dr. Wurschmidt toward the worthy pursuits. Wurschmidt has worked at and held high positions at numerous nonprofits in Ohio for more than 20 years as a professional. In March of 2008, Wurschmidt initiated a consulting organization PARADOX Associations. Dr. Wurschmidt, who serves as the organization’s CEO, is making a name for himself, with his outreach and involvement in committe work and speaking at international events and conferences. Wurschmidt’s previous nonprofit jobs were at the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, where he headed up the organization’s homeland security efforts, and the Law Enforcement Foundation. Wurschmidt worked at both nonprofits simultaneously and held the chief executive officer position at both companies. Dr. Todd N. Wurschmidt simultaneously served as chief executive officer at three additional nonprofit organizations that shared an office space: Ohio Crime Prevention Association, Ohio School Resource Officers Association and D.A.R.E. Association of Ohio. From March of 1995 to June of 2002, Wurschmidt worked as an adjunct assistant professor at The Ohio State University, his alma matter. Dr. Todd Wurschmidt taught a graduate course he created, which was called leadership for nonprofit associations. While he was teaching at The Ohio State University, Todd Wurschmidt also was the first Executive Director at the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, a nonprofit organization. Wurschmidt handled the usual nonprofit fare, raising funds, general management and developing leadership programs. Todd Wurschmidt spent two and a half years at the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association, in addition to his duties with the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. When he is not working at a nonprofit agency, Todd Wurschmidt enjoys keeping fit by power walking and going swimming. In his spare time, Wurschmidt likes to read books by British mathematician and physicist Stephen Hawking, Newt Gingrich, Heinz Pagels, Joseph Campbell, and Thomas Sowell.
