I went to college in Denton, Texas, at the University of North Texas and got a BA in English (technical writing and editing) and soon thereafter joined the Peace Corps and went to Nepal. In Nepal, I made some good friends and had a difficult but rewarding experience with the Peace Corps. I don’t think about Nepal or my work so much as I do about “Peace Corps,” which is a strange, strange organization now that I think about it. Now I’m publishing ESL books for a university press in Manhattan. It’s a good job, but a year into it and I’m still getting used to working in an office. Much like the Peace Corps, it too is a strange, strange thing.
