John J. Tierney is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with more than 20 years experience in information systems and security.
He has also attained the National Security Agency certificate in Information Assessment Methodology (IAM) and Information Evaluation Methodology (IEM).
John is a Founder and Executive Vice President of the New York Metro InfraGard Members Alliance, an FBI program whose mission is information sharing and the security of critical infrastructure. The InfraGard has nearly 20,000 members nationwide with Alliances at each of the FBI field offices.
In 2007 John was awarded a commendation by the FBI for “Exceptional Service in the Public Interest” signed by Director Robert S. Mueller III.
He has performed multiple roles as an independent consultant providing technical and administrative information systems design, security auditing, assessment and evaluation, training programs as well as forensic investigation services for mid-sized and international organizations.
He is the Director, Information Systems & Security for the Water Authority of Western Nassau County, one of the largest water systems in New York State. His responsibilities include all technology resources, disaster recovery, emergency response and is a representative to the Water Information Sharing and Analysis Center (WaterISAC).
