Here's a bit about me

I'm a Systems Specialist at the UNC Chapel hill in ITS. I work in a group called Technology Assessment and Planning. We're essentially a small skunk-works that looks at emerging technology.

The most important thing on the other side of my life is my family. That's my wife Amy, and my kids Jackson and Riley. Amy owns NC Pilates.

With the time that's left over, I like to run, and play guitar. I'm very much into blues and R & B, and think of myself as a songwriter. I'm also into home recording. I'm slowly working my way out to the web with music. I've recently staked out a space on MySpace, and you can also check out my current band, Good Rocking Sam, on MySpace, there's some tunes out there to hear.

I am a geek, so I'm working on my great Web2.0 idea, which I'm keeping under my hat for now, but it involves Ruby, Rails, social networking, music, songwriting, recording, mash-ups, DHTML and AJAX, all sorts of good things. It's called Share the Muse.

Some of the other things I'm into are backpacking and hiking, and general aviation. I'm a private pilot for single-engine aircraft, C152's and Piper Warriors. Some of these things have fallen by the wayside with the small kids, but I will pick them up again.

I'm just getting into astronomy, but it's been difficult given the current schedule.
