I'm originally from Holbrook, NY, but my family relocated to Greensboro, NC in the late '90s. I received both my law school and undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

I am currently working in the San Francisco Bay Area as a Staff Attorney at Rubicon Legal Services (formerly The Hawkins Center of Rubicon Programs).

My interests lie along the intersections of Critical Theory and the Anthropology of Law: particularly the criminalization of poverty and mental illness, the body, and reentry policy.

My legal practice areas are reentry legal services, social security disability law, public benefits law, the collateral consequences of a criminal record, and - in general - poverty law. I am also currently involved in the formation of a Reentry Initiative in Contra Costa County.
