Crowned 2007-2008’s Miss New Jersey by the Miss America Organization, Amy Polumbo is an active student at Wagner College in Staten Island, New York, where she majors in Drama. She has already performed in four of the college’s theatre productions, including Julius Caesar, as Portia; Bye, Bye, Birdie, as Penelope; Swing!; and Chess. Originally from Howell Township, New Jersey, Polumbo left the city upon her graduation from Howell High School in 2003 when she began attending Wagner. While a student, she took a break from her studies to star as Ariel in Walt Disney World’s Production of The Voyage of The Little Mermaid at Dallies Theatre for MGM Studios. A noted vocalist, Amy Polumbo has also appeared in multiple theatre productions with several different New Jersey and New York theatre companies, including Premier Theatre Company, Georgian Court Gould Mansion, and Triad Theatre. In addition, Polumbo has starred in a live television production of The Sound of Music as Maria, and the budding actress has also appeared in print, most notably as the cover model for Parade Magazine’s September 16, 2007 edition. Amy Polumbo considers her Miss New Jersey crowning her most outstanding achievement thus far, but the honor tops a very long list of personal successes. The Fine and Performing Arts Center awarded Miss Polumbo the honor of "Most Outstanding Accomplishments in Acting,” and i-SAFE, Inc. has honored her with the title of National Spokeswoman. Amy Polumbo is thrilled to represent the global pioneer in internet safety education, i-SAFE, and she has already given two orientation lectures to Wagner College freshmen on the importance of keeping personal images private. Most recently, Amy Polumbo led a similar lecture at Rider University called “Your Electronic Image”. Despite all of her extra-curricular activities, Amy Polumbo still finds time to remain connected to her hometown and state, where she recently participated in Bordentown, New Jersey’s 325th Anniversary Parade.
